This Is Not Routine—It’s Worship

Lately I’ve been finding myself slipping away from my dynamic. This happens from time to time for me and my partner. Life starts, you know, lifing—and our priorities take hold. I started to feel frustration and guilt creep in because I didn’t know how to stay consistent. So I sat down with myself and had an inner dialogue. And maybe that was the moment something shifted.

Maybe the problem is not that I can’t be consistent.

Maybe I am not meant for consistency in the way I thought. Maybe I am meant for sacred devotion and ritual. Maybe I’ve just been looking at it the wrong way.

So I had a heart-to-heart with my Dom. We talked about how to simplify our dynamic enough to create something sacred. A ritual for us. A devotion to always come back to each other when we drift.

We sat together and came up with a few ideas to create space for our connection to thrive:

  1. Sunday nights, we’ll check in and decide which day or two we can come together that week. We’ll look at our schedules and commit to at least one day of intentional connection. Starting simple and easy is exactly what my nervous system needs.

  2. On the day we choose, we’ll cuddle in bed and check in with three questions:
    a. Where are we at?

    b. What’s coming up?

    c. What do we need from each other?

This creates space for our DD/lg dynamic to soften and expand, while still holding deep presence for one another.

3. We’ll bring back weekly maintenance spankings so that my masochistic needs are honored.

4. Every day, I’ll kneel and present my day collar for my Dom to place on me. In that moment, we’ll exchange affirmations of our love and devotion.

For me, life is a daily ritual. That’s who I am. And when I stop seeing my dynamic as a routine or a checklist, I can reframe the way I approach it entirely.

This dynamic is an act of devotion. It is a sacred space I can return to again and again.

This season is reminding me that sacred connection doesn’t have to look like rigid consistency. It can be fluid, alive, and responsive. What matters most is that we keep returning. That we honor the space between as holy, even when life gets messy.

If you’ve been feeling the drift too, you’re not alone. Whether you’re in a dynamic or walking this path solo, you’re allowed to rewrite the rules. You’re allowed to create a rhythm that honors your nervous system, your desires, and your truth.

Devotion doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it whispers—**I’m still here.**

Let this be your reminder that you can always come home. To your dynamic. To your ritual. To your body. To yourself. Again and again.
